I was awed by the black and white photos on Leanne Cole’s and Laura Macky’s Monochromatic Madness series. So what did I do but go out and get drunk on color.
I was also talking to Leanne Cole today about preferences for the original photo versus a photo with actions applied. You can take a look at her before-and-after images here.
Here is a straight photo followed by an oil painting rendition. Not the same as an “Action” but kind of the same idea. I’m trying to decide which I like more. Which do you like more?
Hi Nia, Following your steps, I am feeling high with your colors! 🙂 I like things more on the natural side, but I think your worked version is better. This is just my personal opinion. Thanks much! Fabio

Thank you, Fabio! In this case, I liked the worked version better too. I liked how the tree trunks looked on the palms. Kind of softer.

Thank you, Ren! I think those two people’s houses have really stunning palm trees. I stared at it for a while and then of course, took a picture to show you!

I like both, but the second one is ” softer” and I like it… like art.

Lots and lots of colour, I think you should keep trying these, they are really coming along. Love the bird of paradise, one of my favourite flowers. If you leave them to die and shrivel you can get some really great photos. Oh, maybe I will do that. great job.

Thank you, Leanne. I was taking pictures of a different one of the bird of paradise flowers and my husband pointed out this one. It was perfect and I could position myself in just the right spot to take the picture. I knew when I took it that it was going to be a good one. 🙂
