I think these photos of Nia’s were taken a little while ago because I’m sure she posted a photo of herself lounging by a pool bar in Bali a couple of days ago 😀
Really, some people have all the luck.
My bestie was up there lounging too a few days ago. It’s an awful fire and the smoke often looks like clouds in pics. But it still could be a cloud anyway lol
We started hearing about it on Facebook. I was knocked out by food poisoning for a couple days but today we got caught up on the news. It was 40% contained as of today.
Yes, thankfully it was only 24 hours and I’m on the mend. It was rough, but thankfully I was able to get back on my feet, drinking sports drinks once I recovered enough, and following the BRAT diet. I can see if it is worse a trip to the hospital would be needed. But thankfully, I think I got it from bad milk, which is rough but not really dangerous. Thank you!
Oh that’s good. With all the terror in the news, they haven’t mentioned the fire as much. We have a house near Yosemite and it is very smokey over there as well. 😦
They will. I was in the Oakland Fire when it happened. Or at a gym working out. I came out of the front door and it was unreal! The hills were massively burned but things have come back as if it never happened…except the memorial they built.
Oh, those were so terribly sad, so many homes and lives lost. But now it is snowing on the fire!! It is really helping, I hear. What a wonderful thing to get snow so early and in time for the storm. Fingers crossed for the firefighters’ safety and the forest’s recovery.
Australia has had its fires too…very sad. We did have a few sprinkles here and it was so refreshing! I kind of like the rain. It’s so calming to me. Hugs from the Bay Area!
No, no, sorry, that was a cloud, but it was photographed in August, as you correctly surmised. The smoke didn’t look like that. It was low hanging and heavy.
The fire is nearly out! There was some early rain and snow, which really helped. Phew.
In Townsville now, Laurie! Thanks for clarifying. I picked up another bout of food poisoning on the airplane from Bali so lost a couple days of Townsville. But I am on the mend now.
This photo was the last of my pre-programming. I’m glad I captured that magnificent day at Lake Tahoe. It was heaven and I miss it. But it’s better to be here at the moment!
Back in the real world Nia, good to hear. Not the dreaded food poisoning? I feel for you there. It’s always good to get great pictures. I hope you enjoy your stay here in Oz.
Cheers
Laurie.
Is that smoke from the fire?

There a huge fire near there which is blanketing the area so I was just wondering….but it does look like a pretty cloud so let’s hope!

It is going to take time to heal from this, but the mountains will.

Thanks, Suz. I knew that was a special day! Let’s hope the 7,000 firefighters working on the fire get it out soon and the air clears.

Oh dear, so it was smoke. That’s terrible. I was hoping it was a fluffy cloud.
Please accept my apologies Laura 🙂
