These were from Wednesday. The aspen is one of the three remaining trees I was able to find with leaves still on them. They are in a sheltered spot.

Those blue jays are in for a jolt to their happy existence. They’ll survive the winter, some always do, but I don’t know how. Fall-1

Wednesday night it started raining and snowing. The last stand of autumn foliage has fallen by now, I’m sure.

  1. Excellent, Nia! The Blue Jays need to share their survival skills with us. They are so strong maybe because they always seem to be “for a jolt to their happy existence.” Take care, my friend, and enjoy your weekend! 🙂

    1. That’s right, Fabio! Very good point! They were very territorial when we all walked over in front of those trees. They were quite close until, of course, I turned my camera on them! Then they flew over to this spot. Wildlife is so hard to photograph.

My mom used to have the Brownies (before girls scouts) stuff pine cones with peanut butter and roll them in bird seed. Then we’d hang them outside for the blue jays for the winter. 🙂

      1. Thanks so much for your reply, Nia! You have good reasons to respect and admire such gorgeous creatures – one of them: you are a chip off the old block. Blue Jays are beautiful!

I finished a few days ago the reading of ‘Between Friends’, by Amos Oz. Next book will be ‘My Michael’, by the same author.

Lots of work at the office.

Take care and enjoy the beautiful fall that you have around.
